Blog Of The Year 2012

I received an unexpected but gratefully accepted award from two insightful bloggers: the lovely and talented author and freelance writer Holly Michael at Holly Michael’s Writing Straight and eternally optimistic Kate Kresse at Believe Anyway.  Thank you so much, Holly and Kate.  I’m humbled and greatly appreciative.  Check out Holly’s and Kate’s  blogs and enjoy some really great writing from two dynamic women!

In the short nine months I’ve been blogging, I’ve enjoyed following some perceptive, entertaining blogs and I am so pleased to be able to pass on this award and encourage others to get to know them too.

The ‘rules’ for this award are simple:

1 Select the blog(s) you think deserve the ‘Blog of the Year 2012′ Award

2 Write a blog post and tell us about the blog(s) you have chosen — there’s no minimum or maximum number of blogs required — and ‘present’ them with their award.

3 Please include a link back to this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012′ Award — and include these ‘rules’ in your post (please don’t alter the rules or the badges!)

4 Let the blog(s) you have chosen know that you have given them this award and share the ‘rules’ with them

5 You can now also join our Facebook group — click ‘like’ on this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012′ Award Facebook group and then you can share your blog with an even wider audience

6 As a winner of the award — please add a link back to the blog that presented you with the award — and then proudly display the award on your blog and sidebar … and start collecting stars…

Yes — that’s right — there are stars to collect!

Unlike other awards which you can only add to your blog once — this award is different!

When you begin you will receive the ’1 star’ award — and every time you are given the award by another blog — you can add another star!

There are a total of 6 stars to collect.

Which means that you can check out your favorite blogs — and even if they have already been given the award by someone else — you can still bestow it on them again and help them to reach the maximum 6 stars!

It gives me great pleasure to award the Blog Of The Year 2012 Award to:

  1. Accidental Kansan
  2. Written By The Finger Of God
  3. Biltrix
  4. Gracie’s Quest
  5. Costing Not Less Than Everything

  13. Saintly Sages
  14. Life As I Know It
  15. Catholibertarian

To these 15 bloggers whom I have been following for most of the last 9 months and to the many others I have found more recently, thank you for making 2012 an enjoyable blogging year.

Deo Gratias

thanks for the nomination! You’ve already read my post about the award, so no need to go into it further.

In regards to blog awards in general, I’ve been thinking about creating a new award as well as a blog site to list the blogs that get the award. What do you think of an award titled something along the lines of Hot Pepper Award, or One Fiery Blog, or something to that effect? The standard for giving it out would be to award it to those blogs that really hit you. If it’s a Christian blog, it would be one that really grabs you and makes you take notice. Same with any other topic or theme, it would be for those blogs that are really on fire, whatever their subject matter. What do you think of the idea, good award or no?

  5. Good for you. We have been blogging the same amount of time! I thought you were a long time pro!!! You have reminded me to finish the half completed post to complete my awards- most importantly the one from you.
    God bless

    • Thank you. From experience, I know that your blog is an award-free zone, so to speak, but I would like you to know that I appreciate your daily meditations on the Catholic Church Readings for the day and the posts on the homilies of the Church Fathers.

  6. What a great way to start my day!!! Thank you!
